El Corazón Residencies — Participant Waiver and Release of Liability

Agreement

I understand I am giving up substantial legal rights, including the right to sue. If I am registering a

participant under 18, I accept these terms as their parent or legal guardian.

Every participant in the 2027 El Corazón Regenerative Residencies must accept this waiver at checkout.

For participants under 18, a parent or legal guardian must accept it.

In this waiver, "Eterna" means [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], the El Corazón project at Eterna, San Juanillo,

Guanacaste, Costa Rica, and its owners, directors, employees, staff, volunteers, guest faculty,

contractors and agents. "Program" means the residency cohort I am registered for, including all

teaching, meals, accommodation on the property, ceremonies, free days and any related activities.

Please read this document carefully. By accepting it, you give up certain legal rights, including the

right to sue.

1. Nature of the Program and assumption of risk

I understand the Program takes place on a working rural farm in a remote coastal area, with limited

access to hospitals and emergency services. It involves physical, outdoor work and communal living.

I voluntarily choose to take part and I knowingly assume all of these risks, known and unknown, even if

they arise from the negligence of Eterna, to the fullest extent permitted by law. I may decline any

activity I am not comfortable with.

2. Health, illness and injury

• Fitness to take part. I confirm I am in good enough health and have reasonable physical mobility

to take part. I have disclosed any medical condition, allergy, dietary need or medication that

could affect my safety. I will consult my own doctor before travelling if I have any doubt.

• Illness and injury. Eterna is not responsible for any illness, injury, disability or death I suffer

during or after the Program, including foodborne or waterborne illness, infectious disease,

insect-borne illness, allergic reactions and injuries from work, tools, wildlife, the ocean or the

land.

• Herbal preparations. Herbalism sessions are educational and are not medical advice, diagnosis

or treatment. Any tincture, oil, salve, tea or other preparation I make, take or bring home is

used at my own risk. I will check with my own doctor before using any preparation, especially if I

am pregnant, nursing or taking medication.• Medical treatment. If I am ill or injured, I authorize Eterna to arrange first aid, transport and

medical treatment it considers necessary. I am responsible for all medical, evacuation and

transport costs. Eterna staff are not medical professionals.

• Insurance. I understand travel and medical insurance is my responsibility and is strongly

recommended.

3. Personal property, loss and theft

Glamping units, tents and shared facilities on the property cannot be locked or secured to hotel

standards. I am solely responsible for my money, passport, electronics, valuables and all other

belongings. Eterna is not responsible for any loss, theft or damage to my property, whether on the

property, at accommodation booked through Eterna, or anywhere else. Damage caused by weather,

wildlife, insects, moisture or other participants is also my risk. I will pay for any damage I cause to

Eterna's property, tools or facilities.

4. Travel, transport and off-property activities

• Travel is my responsibility. I arrange my own flights, airport transfers, daily transport (if I book

my own lodging) and entry documents. Eterna is not responsible for flight delays or

cancellations, missed connections, lost luggage, road conditions, vehicle accidents, border or

immigration decisions, or any costs that result.

• Late arrival or early departure. If I arrive late, leave early or miss any part of the Program for

any reason, I am not entitled to a refund except under the published cancellation and refund

policy.

• Third-party providers. Shuttle operators, drivers, Buddha Retreat Hotel, and any tour, surf, spa

or activity provider are independent businesses. Eterna does not control them and is not liable

for their acts, omissions, services or safety, even where Eterna recommends them or books

them on my behalf.

• Free days and off-property activities. Activities off the property, including surfing, sea turtle

tours, beach outings, ecstatic dance and spa visits, are self-organized and not part of the

Program. I take part in them entirely at my own risk.

• Events beyond Eterna's control. Eterna is not liable for changes, delays or cancellations caused

by weather, natural disaster, illness outbreaks, government action, civil unrest or other events

beyond its reasonable control.

5. Release, waiver and indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, waive and discharge Eterna from all claims, demands,

losses and liability arising from my participation in the Program, including claims for illness, injury,

death, loss or theft of property, and travel disruption, even if caused by the negligence of Eterna. This

release does not apply to gross negligence or intentional misconduct where the law does not allow it.

I agree to indemnify and hold Eterna harmless from any claim, cost or expense, including legal fees,

caused by my own actions, my breach of this waiver, or any claim brought by my family members, heirs

or anyone claiming on my behalf.

6. Conduct

I will follow safety briefings, tool instructions and reasonable directions from staff and faculty. I will not

take part in activities while impaired by alcohol or drugs. Eterna may remove me from the Program,

without refund, if my conduct puts me or others at risk or seriously disrupts the community.

7. Photography

Eterna may photograph and film Program activities. I consent to my image being used in Eterna's

materials and promotion without payment.

8. Participants under 18

If the participant is under 18, I, the parent or legal guardian, have read this waiver, accept its terms on

the minor's behalf and on my own, and agree to supervise the minor at all times during the Program,

including on free days.

9. General

This waiver is governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica. If any part is found unenforceable, the

rest remains in full effect. It is the entire agreement on these matters and stays in effect for any future

Eterna program I attend. I have had the chance to ask questions and to seek independent legal advice

before accepting.
